What are your short-term and long-term skin goals?
I just turned 25 so I'm starting even more preventative methods for my skin. I'm looking for some anti-aging products with gentle ingredients — retinol sparks more psoriasis. And I'm trying to be much better about sunblock!
Dryness always! I have a few psoriasis spots that I'm currently nursing. I also currently have some congestion on my skin on my jaw.
Wash off makeup with Farmacy Green Cleansing Balm; wash with Milky Jelly Cleanser (just MJC if I didn't wear much makeup); toner of some sort, lately I've been using Caudalie Glycolic Skin Brightening Essence, in the warmer months I was using Glossier Solution; serum varies depending on what my skin needs most that day like, Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum if I'm dealing with dull skin post-acne, Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum, Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst Treatment; and then moisturizer! My favorite step. I've been obsessed with Caudalie Glycolic night cream. If I'm still dry in some areas, I'll top it off with Weleda Skin Food. If my skin hasn't been breaking out and doesn't need the glycol acid, often I will do a layer of Glossier Moon Mask and sleep in it. My skin slurps that stuff up.
Skin Food, yesss! Weleda Skin Food has been in these streets for almost 100 years, but it’s catching on. It contains calendula, which is a highly healing ingredient. It is anti-inflammatory (heals acne), boosts collagen, and protects against UV rays. WOW. Get you a product that can do it all.
Usually won't do a morning cleanse if I've done a full routine at night. If I have any residue from a night mask or cream, I'll wipe down my face with micellar water (I like the Simple one for hydrating).
Since you have dry skin, you might want a more moisturizing cleanser. Micellar water is a light purifier but might cause dryness. Dermatologist Loretta Ciraldo recommends an oil-based cleanser (even your Farmacy balm!) as a vehicle to avoid over-washing.
Spritz with Caudalie Beauty Elixir. Let that tone and then prep the skin for serum with a hydrating mist like Caudalie Grape Water mist or Rosewater + Glycerin mist from Heritage Store. Then use a serum or two depending on what my skin needs that day. Like, Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum for if I'm dealing with dull skin post-acne, Caudalie SOS thirst quenching serum, Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst Treatment. Then moisturizing cream — I've fallen in love with Tatcha Water Cream for under my makeup. On super dry days I do two layers of water cream or will use Caudalie SOS Intense Moisturizing Cream. In colder months I often will wear Weleda Skin Food all over or add to drier spots. Finish up with sunblock. I love Supergoop! Then I go about my day!
