Describe your skin:

My skin really changes type depending on the season. Now that we're in the colder months, it's getting super dry, but in the summer I have oily/combination.

What are your short-term and long-term skin goals?

Short-term, I would love to restore some vibrancy to my skin! it's been a bit dull in this weird transitional period. Long-term, I have some discoloration and acne scars from picking at my face, so I'm slowly trying to get rid of those!

What is your biggest skin problem right now?

Luckily, the fall/winter weather calms my breakouts, so I haven't been dealing with anything too noticeable. But, like I mentioned before, my skin has been pretty dull and dry these past few weeks, which isn't cute when you don't like putting too much makeup on.

The evening is the most important part of the routine, so we can start there! I'm currently washing my face with Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, which is a classic. It's a nice gel texture and removes any mascara, concealer, eyeliner, etc., so I don't have to be too worried about double cleansing. I like it because it thoroughly cleans but is still super gentle. Then, I apply Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant using a cotton square all over my face. This product has been super helpful with clearing my deep acne scars and some of the discoloration around my skin. I use it every single day. I follow up with the Active Botanical Refining Toner by Circumference Skincare. I love the smell, and I feel like it helps restore some moisture into my face after the double whammy cleanse and exfoliation.

Then, I use Tata Harper Elixir Vitae and Elixir Vitae Eye–one's a highly concentrated serum, the other an eye cream, and they pretty much do everything. If I really want some shiny, bouncy skin the next morning, I've been using the Moon Juice Beauty Shroom Plumping Jelly Serum. It does everything. To top it all off, I use the Circumference Pure Balancing Botanical Face Oil. If it's a night where I'm really trying to go in, I use one of those Gua Sha crystal tools from Herbivore Botanicals to massage my face before I go to bed.

You’ve clearly got your routine on lock, and know what works for your skin. BHA is great for all skin types looking for some regular chemical exfoliation with an amazing payoff. BHA works inside and out of the pores to reduce oil and buildup, and it reduces acne scars and evens the texture of the skin. It’s a perfect product for your skin goals!
Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese method of facial massage with a flat piece of crystal–typically either jade or rose quartz. This technique can help with achieving a more lifted and sculpted look, all while releasing muscle tension and helping with lymphatic draining.

The morning gets done a lot quicker. I never wash my face in the morning, so I start off with some type of hydrating toner because it's always better to apply skincare on damp skin. My friend gave me this crazy Omorovicza Magic Moisture Mist that I've been very consciously using. Then, I use the Circumference Vital-C Antioxidant Day Serum. Vitamin-C is the best for scars, man. I finish up with Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer and ALWAYS my Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40.

Vitamin C and sunscreen are both keys to keeping your skin tone even. We’ve waxed on about Vitamin C before here, but sunscreen is essential if you have any scarring. Sun exposure can make scars even darker, so always be sure to slather on the SPF!
